Parks and Activities
Discovery Green is a fun park downtown always having family friendly events and activities! There’s a park and water area for kids and you can see their calendar of events here.
Market Square Park is downtown as well! On June 22 they’re playing an outdoor movie (Fargo). You can see their calendar here.
Hermann Park is a beautiful park with a newly updated Japanese Garden inside and a new garden called the McGovern Centennial Gardens.
Miller Outdoor Theatre is at Hermann Park and a great place for free outdoor events! Bring a blanket, snacks, and bug spray :). On June 24th you can go see the Symphony!

The Water Wall is another small park people like to visit. It’s at 2800 Post Oak Blvd, Houston, TX 77056.
The Sky Space at Rice University is an interesting attraction to visit at sunset. Free, but requires tickets.
Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary
Brazos Bend State Park. A bit of a drive, and has an entrance fee, but a great park where you can see alligators, cool huge, old trees, and also has an observatory.
Museums
The Menil Collection. Free!
Contemporary Arts Museum Houston. Free!
Blaffer Art Museum at the University of Houston

This list could go on forever! Houston is known for it’s good food :). There is a wide range of cheap to expensive food (but all delicious!), so check the websites before going!
