Parks and Activities
Hermann Park is a beautiful park with a newly updated Japanese Garden inside and a new garden called the McGovern Centennial Gardens.
The Water Wall is another small park people like to visit. It’s at 2800 Post Oak Blvd, Houston, TX 77056.
The Sky Space at Rice University is an interesting attraction to visit at sunset. Free, but requires tickets.
Brazos Bend State Park. A bit of a drive, and has an entrance fee, but a great park where you can see alligators, cool huge, old trees, and also has an observatory.
The Menil Collection. Free!
Blaffer Art Museum at the University of Houston
A lot of the museums have free days! The following are all free on Thursdays at different times:
Places to Eat
This list could go on forever! Houston is known for it’s good food :). There is a wide range of cheap to expensive food (but all delicious!), so check the websites before going!
Emporio Brazilian Cafe – Where Allan proposed!
Luchi and Joey’s – tacos!
Thai Gourmet – One of my favorite Thai places
Songkran Thai Kitchen – Sounds amazing, but I haven’t had the pleasure of trying it yet! Maybe my new favorite if I ever make it there :).
Picanha House – Brazilian!
